Lorraine Doris Gertrude Polzin was born on August 16, 1924 in Cottonwood County, the daughter of Frederick and Katherine (Miens) Pabst. She attended country school and later worked in Marshall, MN. On December 11, 1943 she was united in marriage to Albert Polzin in Sanborn, MN. This union was blessed with four children. She was a true homemaker and always had a large garden and loved canning, quilting, and baking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The couple moved into Springfield in March of 2000. Lorraine was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for all of her married life. Lorraine died on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 88 years. She is survived by her husband - Albert of Springfield; children - Barbara (Roger) Vanderwerf of Springfield, Beverly (Gene) Thorston of Springfield, Betty Irlbeck of Sanborn, and; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters - Peggy Bredvold of Springfield, Emily Brown of Sanborn, Gertrude Wall of Glenwood, and Ruth Kronbach of Lamberton. She is preceded in death by her parents, son - Gary; a son-in-law - Jim Irlbeck; a step-grandson - Jimmy Rose; and siblings - Carl, Emil, Albert, Marie, John, and Hilda.
