Lorraine Jenniges

There will be a Parish Prayer Service Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Lorraine Jenniges, age 81 of Wanda, died Sunday, November 29, 2009, at her home. Lorraine was born on December 16, 1927, in Stately Township to Joseph and Amelia (Bauer) Schumacher. Early years were spent on a farm near Springfield, MN. She completed 8 years of education in a country school. She met Gilbert Jenniges and was united in marriage on February 5, 1947 at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. She settled in with Gilbert on the family farm east of Wanda where they farmed and raised a family of 15. Gilbert passed away in 1993. Lorraine moved into Wanda where she resided until her death. After a courageous battle with cancer she passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family. Lorraine enjoyed canning, gardening, bowling, embroidering, making blankets and going to Jackpot Junction. She was employed at the Wabasso Nursing Home as a laundry and dietary aide for many years. She also was employed at Wanda Steak House where she catered. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and a member of the St. Mathias Parish most of her life. Lorraine is survived by her children - Diane (Bob) Guetter of Redwood Falls, Duane (Eudean) Jenniges of Vesta, Richard (JoAnn) Jenniges of Wanda, Gilbert (Diane) Jenniges of O'Fallon, MO, Kenneth (LeAnn) Jenniges of Redwood Falls, Chuck (Shari) Jenniges of Lucan, Lee Jenniges of Wanda, Paul (Cheryl) Jenniges of Heron Lake, Nadine Jenniges of Wabasso, Dale (Marlene) Jenniges of Sanborn, June Jenniges of Wanda, Lori Jenniges of Redwood Falls, Gwen (Duane) Fennern of Wabasso, and Jolene (Elliot) Reed of Glencoe; 40 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and sister - Loretta Hedman of Sanborn. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Gilbert; son Ronnie; grandchildren - Bryan, Andrew and Jesse Jenniges, and Chad Zwaschka; and brother Arthur Schumacher.
