Lorraine Broich

Lorraine Marie was born on September 10, 1925 in Wilmont, MN the daughter of J. Peter Frances (Becker) Schneider. She grew up and attended St. Adrian Catholic School and Wilmont Good Council School. Lorraine later moved with her parents to Mankato where she worked as a clerk at a grocery store. Lorraine married Francis P. Broich on September 16, 1947 in Mankato, MN. The couple lived in Sleepy Eye for a while and later moved to Mound, MN. They returned to Sleepy Eye where Lorraine continued to work at the Broich Market as a clerk and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Divine Providence Auxiliary and a bowling league. She enjoyed woodworking, crafts, gardening, bird watching, traveling and mostly her family. Lorraine Marie Broich, age 80, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN Survivors include her husband, Francis of Sleepy Eye, children, Barbara (Greg) Hite of Glencoe, Dale (Valerie) of Manteca, CA, Chuck of Robbinsdale and Mary Lee (Matthew) Moldestad of Golden Valley, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, brother, Alfred Schartz of Peonia, CO and sister, Anna Mae Broich of Worthington, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first baby daughter, parents, brother, Lawrence Schartz, sister, Esther Roemeling, brother-in-law, Larry Broich and sister-in-law, Mary Schartz.
