Lorraine Katherine Braaten

Lorraine Katherine was born on May 2, 1930 in Watonwan County, the daughter of Erdman E. and Katherine E. (Sukau) Falk. She grew up and graduated from high school. She was united in marriage to Marland Braaten on June 1, 1951 at the First Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, MN. Lorraine was born again in Jesus at the Assembly of God Church in Mountain Lake. She worked as a nurses aide, a waitress, at Butterfield Produce and various other jobs. Lorraine loved her savior, her husband, daughters, son-in-laws, granddaughters, grandson-in-law and great granddaughter, as well as quilting, antiques, reading her bible, praying and listening to old time gospel music. Lorraine passed away at the home of her daughter in Butterfield on Saturday, May 28, 2016. Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Louise (David) Johnson of Butterfield, granddaughter Peggy (Joe) Engelkes of Chester, SD, and great-granddaughter Kimberly Engelkes. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marland in 2010, daughter Tammy Jo (Braaten) Leinenweber, granddaughter, Kathy Lynn Johnson, sister, Evelyn (Falk) Braaten and brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
