Loretta Schroepfer

There will be a Christian Mothers Rosary at 5pm and a Parish Prayer Service at 6pm, both Monday at the funeral home. Loretta Amelia Schroepfer was born on March 10, 1918 in Lake Hanska Township, MN, the daughter of Otto Anna (Braulick) Kral. She grew up and attended District #69-Sigel Country School and Holy Trinity School in New Ulm. Loretta married Albert W. Schroepfer on June 25, 1940 at Holy Trinity Church in New Ulm. In 1944 Loretta and Albert bought the Frank Schroepfer farm. The farm had no electricity or phone. They had dairy cattle, hogs and many chickens. Loretta enjoyed raising chickens and sold eggs for many years. Albert and Loretta built many new farm buildings doing most of the carpentry work with the help of relatives and neighbors. In 1981 they were a century farm. In 1993 they had a farm auction and moved to their new house that they built in Sleepy Eye. Albert died August 6, 1996. In 2003 Loretta sold her house and moved to Villa Maria; then moved to Countryside assisted living in December of 2006. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. Loretta enjoyed having a garden and fruit trees, canning, baking, quilting, making a quilt for each grandchild and most of the great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Angela (Marlon) Bushard of New Ulm, Virginia (Jerome) Peichel of Fairfax, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, brother, Jerome (Delores) Kral of Sleepy Eye, sisters, Gladys Lang of Springfield, Delores Sellner of New Ulm, Angeline (Linus) Krzmarzick of Sleepy Eye, Marion (Vernard) Schroepfer of Wabasso, Dorothy (Anthony) Krzmarzick of Sleepy Eye, sisters-in-law, Rosella Hillesheim, Agnes (Edwin) Tauer, Sylvester (Pearl) Schroepfer, Jerome (Arlene) Schroepfer and Clara Schroepfer, all of Sleepy Eye. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert, brother, Leonard Kral, sister, Irene Kral, and grandchild, baby girl Bushard.
