Lorenzo Lindmeier was born June 10, 1919 in Watertown, SD to Andrew and Mary (Helget) Lindmeier. He grew up in St. Cloud, MN and became a bricklayer at the age of 16, which became his profession for 46 years. Lorenzo was united in marriage to Evelyn Primus on June 6, 1939 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. During World War II, he traveled to work on government building projects in support of the war effort in states such as Oregon, Indiana and Texas. The couple moved to Springfield in 1954. Lorenzo was a big fan and supporter of Springfield baseball, the Twins and the Vikings - win or lose. He loved C and W music with Hank Williams and Marty Robbins as his favorite singers. He was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church and a 75-year member of the Bricklayers Union. Lorenzo Lindmeier died Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Springfield at the age of 94 years. He is survived by sons- Gary (Sandee) of North Mankato, Ken (Charlotte) of Washington, IA, Wayne (Julie) of Lake Crystal, Roger of Avoca, and Dale (Barb) of Springfield; daughter Linda Treml of North Mankato; 11 grandchildren- Troy Lindmeier, Susan Sprinkle, Sarah Dawson, Anne Lindmeier, Scott Lindmeier, Shane Lindmeier, Justin Treml, Jordan Treml, Lindsey Norton, Amber Wilfahrt, and Courtney Lindmeier; and 8 great-grandchildren- Colton, Grant, Christian, Natalie, Audrey, Nicholas, Sylvia, and Maria. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Evie in 1999; grandson Sean; and his brothers and sisters.
