Lorene Lewis

Lorene Louella Lewis was born June 20, 1922, in Sentinel, OK, the daughter of Ed and Effie Mae (McNabb) Wilkinson. She was the oldest of 8 children and lived most of her life in Wichita, TX. Lorene was united in marriage to J.D. Lewis on February 2, 1941, and the couple had 2 children, Jimmy and Patricia. Lorene enjoyed baking, crocheting, playing dominoes and doing any arts and crafts. She also enjoyed painting, volunteering at church, watching Golden Girls and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lorene Louella Lewis died Sunday, March 21, 2010, at her home in rural Springfield at the age of 87 years. She is survived by son Jimmy and wife Mary Lewis of Springfield; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister Vonsil (David) Abel of Burkburnett, TX; brothers- Robert F. (Darlene) Wilkinson of Henrietta, TX, and J.R. Wilkinson of Wichita Falls, TX; and son-in-law Cecil Lloyd. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters- Dovie J. Kilcrease, Bonnie Bonnell, and Mary Helen Waitman; brother David E. Wilkinson; daughter Patricia Arvene Lloyd; and great-grandson Brendan James Ervin.
