Lora Mae Haler

Lora Mae Haler, age 85, of St. James, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Health Care System- St. James. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 4, 2021 at St. James Catholic Church in St. James with Father Timothy Hall as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in St. James. Lora Mae Schwieger was born August 16, 1935 in Delton Township, Cottonwood County, MN, the daughter of Clifford and Agnes (Heath) Schwieger. Lora Mae attended several schools growing up, she graduated from St. James High School in 1953. On November 10, 1953, she was united in marriage to John Peter Haler at the St. James Catholic Church. The couple made their home, raise their family and farmed in Rosendale Township until 1982 when they moved into St. James. Lora Mae did house cleaning for many years. She enjoyed crocheting lap throws, gardening, playing bingo, dancing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Christian Mothers & Ladies, and North Jolly Homemakers Extension Club. She is survived by her children; Paul (Cindy) Haler of St. James, Elaine (Gary) Blackstad of St. James, Mark (Jil) Haler of Lafayette, Janet Haler (Jay Moses) of Kasota, Denis Haler of Reedsburg, WI, son-in-law Dale Peterson of Eveleth, sister Nadene (Elton) Ahlness of Springfield, 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, 2 daughtes; Mary and Laurie and a grandson Dan and her parents.
