Lois Omogene Holte was born February 28, 1919 in St. James to parents Oscar and Lottie (Bilben) Holte. She graduated from St. James High School in 1936. She continued her education in Mankato where she received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Mankato Teacher's College in 1940. She then taught school in Hendricks from 1940 until 1942. On March 28, 1942, she was united in marriage to Leonard O. Larson. Leonard passed away in 1985. Lois developed a fondness for 1919 Root Beer, because she was born in 1919. She belonged to many organizations over the years, including Chatter Club, VFW Women's Auxiliary, Garden Club, Church Circle, Sewing Circle, Lois Club, Red Hat Club and various Bridge Clubs. She also served as a Gray Lady at Pleasant View and volunteered to help at blood drives at the Armory in St. James. She is survived by her two children; Michael (Kay) Larson, Jill (Richard) Larson Sundberg, eight grandchildren; Christopher (Angie) Larson, Jodi (Paul) Payant Harvatin, Jeffrey Payant, David (Rochelle) Larson, Molly (Joe) Larson Galloway, Cindy Sundberg, Rick Sundberg, Karen Sundberg Meyer, and 21 great-grandchildren.
