Lois Ann Jagerson age 92, of Madelia, MN died on October 5, 2024, at Madelia Health - Hospital after a long, courageous battle with heart disease.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Madelia, on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 12:00 pm. Visitation will take place at Sturm Funeral Home, Madelia on Friday from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
The clergy will be Fr. Timothy Hall. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Madelia, MN.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Madelia, Minnesota. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.
Lois Jagerson, daughter of Walter and Agnes (Hogan) Michels, was born on September 18, 1932, in Mankato, MN. Lois grew up in the Belgrade Township where she was active in 4H and graduated from Nicollet High School in 1950. She earned her teaching degree from Mankato Teachers College (Minnesota State-Mankato). Lois began her teaching career in Lake Benton Minnesota and then taught at Madelia Elementary School.
In September 1955, through the purchase of a new car, Lois met James Jagerson, whom she wed on June 23, 1956, at St. Michael’s Parish in rural Belgrade Township. They made their home in Madelia where they lived over 54 years together and were blessed with 4 children. Lois continued to substitute teach while she raised her children. She was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Madelia extension club, American Legion Post #19 Ladies Auxiliary and numerous card groups. She enjoyed her family, fishing, gardening, and playing cards with friends.
Lois is survived by her children, David (Linda) Jagerson of LaQuinta, California, John (Janet) Jagerson of North Mankato, Sharon (Dan) Johnson of Lake Kiowa, Texas, and Jeffrey (Christine) Jagerson of Plymouth, Minnesota; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; extended family members; 1 sister-in-law, Rita Michels of North Mankato; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Jagerson; her parents, Walter and Agnes (Hogan) Michels; siblings, Ron, David and Myrna (Yenter); 1 sister-in-law, Shirley Michels; Jim's parents and his siblings: Laura, Marge, Carrie, Cy, and Gerald.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Madelia.
