Lois Ann Groebner

Lois Ann Groebner, age 71, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 15, 2018 at MCHS in Mankato, MN. Lois was born on September 16, 1947 in Sleepy Eye, MN to Walter & Louise (Mathiowetz) Groebner. She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School and then pursued a nursing career and graduated from Union Hospital New Ulm LPN School of Nursing in 1966. Lois worked as an LPN at ISJ/MCHS Hospital in Mankato on the Med/Surg and Orthopedic units for 40 years. During this time she also lived and cared for the Lee family. She was loved and respected by all the physicians, staff and patients that she worked with, and received the "Above & Beyond Strength in Caring Award" in 2007. Since retirement she provided care for many homebound friends. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye and regularly attended mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato. In her free time Lois loved gardening, bowling, golfing, playing cards and spending time with her many friends. She is survived by her aunts, Evelyn Mathiowetz and Veronica Groebner, a niece and nephew and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Eugene and Gerald.
