Lois Dammann

November 21, 1926 — June 11, 2018

Lois Dammann was born November 21, 1926 to George and Rosebud (Engel) Scharmann in Sanborn, MN. She attended and graduated from Sanborn Public School in 1944 and then worked at Sanborn State Bank for 30 years. On June 10, 1947, Lois married Marlin Dammann at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. Lois started taking piano lessons at the age of 5. She used her skills to accompany and direct the church choir at Zion Lutheran Church where she was a life long member. For over 70 years, she was the church organist. Lois enjoyed golf, travel, gardening, coffee time and happy hour with friends. She was a member of the Farmer's Golf Club where she was an avid golfer, the Sanborn Legion Auxiliary, and served 12 years on the Sanborn City Council. She is survived by sister-in-law Genola Busse; nieces - Nancy Partich, Judy Montonye, Elisabeth Hendricks; and nephews - Kirby Scharmann, Philip Scharmann, Emerson Busse. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marlin in 1996; brothers Edward (Verdella) and John Scharmann; brothers-in-law Alvord, Arlan, and John Dammann, James Busse.
