Lois Clark

January 27, 1923 — July 23, 2007

Lois Lucille Diffenderffer was born on January 27, 1923, in Fandon, IL to Chester Arthur and Elizabeth Hazel (Chapin) Diffenderffer. She grew up on a farm, where she loved to help her dad with the field work and her mom with household chores. Lois graduated from high school in Colchester, IL. Her love for rollerskating drew the attention of Victor Duane Clark, and they were married on February 10, 1946, at the Fandon First Christian Church. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter, Tanya. Wanting to be near their daughter and her family, Lois and Duane moved from Canton, IL to Darfur, MN in 1980. Lois' life revolved around her grandchildren, her family, and her Love for God. Lois and Duane would travel many miles to attend the many activities of their grandchildren. They enjoyed basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, musicals, school plays, speech meets, and Church events watching their grandchildren, and even after Jerris and Slade had left for college they continued to support the local students with their attendance at the Mountain Lake Christian School and other local events. Their love of children and young people earned them the title of Grandma and Grandpa by many area students. Lois read her Bible daily, and she prayed for her family, Pastors, Missionaries, and the body of believers. She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Mountain Lake, MN and made a point to smile and speak to everyone. Her love for Jesus and her family was her life testimony. Lois Clark died on Monday afternoon, July 23, 2007, at the age of 84 years, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in St. James, MN, after 6 1/2 years of cancer. Lois is survived by her husband Duane Clark of Darfur; her daughter, Tanya Watkins and her husband Peter of Darfur; grandchildren, Jerris Watkins of St. Anthony, MN and Slade Watkins of Roseville, MN; a sister, Hazel Renner of Colchester, IL; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Diffenderffer of Macomb, IL and Mary Lois Hierman of Springfield, IL; and brother-in-law, Max Clark of Lafayette, LA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Benjamin Diffenderffer.
