Linus G. Krzmarzick, 93, of Sleepy Eye died peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye. Linus George Krzmarzick was born May 11, 1921 in Prairieville Township to Joseph and Emma (Hartneck) Krzmarzick. He attended school District #36 and St. Mary's school in Sleepy Eye. On October 21, 1942, Linus married Angeline Kral at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm, MN. He and Angeline lived on the Krzmarzick family farm in Prairieville Township for almost 66 years. Together they raised 14 children. In September of 2008, he and Angeline moved into Divine Providence Community Home after he was diagnosed with cancer. He was an over 5 year cancer survivor. Linus was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Aid Society. He was involved with 4-H, a member of the Fraternity of Eagles and a delegate for AMPI Creamery for 12 years. Linus loved his farm, the dairy cows and doing field work. He enjoyed playing cards, going to fairs and parades. He loved music, encouraging his children to play an instrument. He was so proud of his sons playing concertinas, drums and guitar for many events which included dances and church picnics. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by children, Elaine (Jim) Mickelson of Springfield, Luverne (Rosie) Krzmarzick, Dennis (Diane) Krzmarzick, Alvin (Barb) Krzmarzick, Shirley (Tony) Schroepfer, Eugene (Julie) Krzmarzick, Brenda (Tom) Schroepfer, Kathy (Steve) Wersal and Leon (Kim) Krzmarzick, all of Sleepy Eye, Dianne (Mel) Alfred and Sharon (Roger) Hoffmann of New Ulm, Cletus Krzmarzick of Gibbon, Debra (Paul) Schmitz of St. James, LuAnn (Shawn) Reynolds of Mankato; 39 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dolores Sellner of New Ulm, Dorothy Krzmarzick of Sleepy Eye, Marion Schroepfer of Lamberton; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerome (Dolores) Kral of Sleepy Eye; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angeline on January 17, 2011, his parents, daughter-in-law, Debbie Sue Krzmarzick, grandson, Jamie Krzmarzick, great grandson, Ethan Alfred, sisters, Agnes Kessler, Martha Moldan, Irene Utz, Gladys Hoffmann and Alyce Schumacher; a brother, Sylvester; and a brother and sister in infancy.
