Linda Stadtlander

October 12, 1914 — May 22, 2006

Linda Marie Goossen, the daughter of John and Maria (Neufeld) Goossen was born on October 12, 1914, in Mountain Lake, MN. She received her education in the Mountain Lake Public School. Linda was baptized and joined the Bergfelder Church (now Lakeview Gospel Church) in Mountain Lake. On March 19, 1936, Linda was married to Arthur Stadtlander, and they were blessed with three children, Joyce, Ronald and Merlys. They farmed near Mountain Lake until 1965, when they moved to Mountain Lake. Linda worked in the Mountain Lake Hospital as a Nurses Aide for 18 years. After retiring she enjoyed volunteer work with the hospital auxiliary, the nursing homes and Senior Dining. She and her husband Art took tour trips which they enjoyed. Her church was very important to her. She loved to sing in the choir, serve in Mission Society and taught children's Sunday School classes. Because of failing health they moved to the Hi Rise, and her husband Art died on November 4, 1998. As Linda's health problems continued she moved to the Eventide Home. Linda Stadtlander died at the age of 91 years on Monday evening, May 22, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake, MN. Linda is survived by her three children, Joyce and her husband Wennis Franz of Mountain Lake, Ronald and his wife Eileen Stadtlander of Houston, TX, and Merlys and her husband Myron Goertzen of Minneapolis, MN; six grandchildren, Doug and his wife Vicky Franz, Karen Franz, Debbie and her husband Mark Langford, Wendy and her husband Steven Wales, Michael and his wife Anne Tressler, and Matthew and his wife Tawnya Goertzen; ten great grandchidren, Rachel and Karly Franz, Jeffrey and Daphne Langford, Twyla Wales, and Joshua, Elizabeth, Jessica and Hannah Tressler; many other relatives and friends.
