She received her education at District 80 E country school and the German Bible School in Mountain Lake. Linda was baptized upon confession of her faith on Pentecost Sunday, 1928, at the Gospel Mennonite Church (now Lakeview Gospel Church) in Mountain Lake, and this is where she remained a lifelong member. She also enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, freezing and canning produce, raising flowers in her garden, and entertaining family and friends. Linda entered the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake on September 11, 1992, and this is where she died on Sunday, March 13, 2005. Linda is survived by a son, Donald P. Nickel and his wife Pauline of Mountain Lake; a son-in-law, Lowell Christopher and his wife Janice of Jackson, MN; six grandchildren, Cheryl and Bob Gielau, Larry Christopher, Wayne and Trish Christopher, Sonja and Mike Stoesz, Daintri and Reggie Christians, and Audi and Alisa Nickel; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Leona Dick of Mountain Lake, and Laura Saeger and her husband Fran of Scottsdale, AZ; many other relatives and friends.
