Linda Carlson, age 69, of St. James died on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Graveside services will be 3:00pm, Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James with Rev. Joe Faldet officiating. Linda Rae Buck was born September 6, 1950 in Jackson, MN, the daughter of Arnold and Elaine (Porisch) Buck. Linda grew up in Alpha, Mn with 5 sisters and 1 brother. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1969. She moved to Saint James in 1973 and made it her hometown for the rest of her life. Linda was an amazing cook and used those skills during her employment at the Hickory Inn as a cook, Hardee's where she made the biscuits, and Casey's making the donuts and other goodies. She even created many of her own recipes. Her family enjoyed the delicious meals she served them. Linda was a very creative and artistic person. She could draw with the most accurate detail of portraits and wildlife. She wrote her own songs that she liked to sing for her family. One of the songs Lean on Jesus will be sung at her service. She had a kind, generous, and caregiving personality. She had no end of defending and protecting her children and family. She took care of many elderly individuals that were in need of help and friendship. When she was a teen she helped teach a metally challenged child. She worked with Special Education children in a school for 2 years. She helped with teaching children for Sunday school and vacation Bible School. She was an advocate for Domestic Abused women and drove them to save locations to escape their abusive situation. Her family and friends were the most important aspect of her life. She loved spending time with her mother, Elaine. Linda and her sisters, Cathy, Corinne, and Val, would get together with their mother, Elaine often. She helped plan a summer reunion for both Merlyn Johnson's Family and hers around the Fourth of July. She was loved by many and will be terribly missed by all. Linda is survived by her children; Rebecca Thompson, Kelly (spouse) of Tulsa, OK, Angela Young, Lon (spouse) of Wasilla, AK, Mark Carlson, Ashley (spouse) Henderson, MN, Ryan Carlson of St. James, MN, Mother Elaine (Buck) Anderson of Trimont, MN, grandchildren; Grandchildren - Keith Thompson, Kristina (spouse), Amber (Thompson) Phillips, Kevin (spouse) Crystal (Thompson) Warwick, Jeremy (spouse) Lucas Thompson, Lillian Thompson, Allie (Gohr) Anaruk, Patarick (spouse), Ryan Jr. Carlson Skyler Carlson, Daisy Carlson, Ella Carlson, Mark Henry Carlson, Great-Grandchildren; Vivian & Abram Thompson - Keith's children, Taylor, Dylan, & Jordyn Phillips - Amber's children, Quentin & Elliot Warwick - Crystal's children, Libby Wollitz & Caleb Anaruk - Allie's children, 5 Sisters - Corinne & Floyd Green of Mt.
