Lester Larsen

Lester H. Larsen was born on November 6, 1924 in Three Lakes Township, Redwood County, MN, the son of Elmer L. Hazel (Sjoben) Larsen. He grew up and attended country school in Three Lakes Township near Morgan, MN. He attended high school in Hutchinson and after graduation he attended college in Lincoln, NE. Lester returned to the area and farmed with his father. Lester married Phyllis Moen Horman on March 20, 1965 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home South of Sleepy Eye and Lester continued to farm until 1980. Lester worked at Sunrise Manor in Sleepy Eye for a few years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. Lester loved fishing, telling jokes, visiting with family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Larsen of Sleepy Eye, three step-children, Audrey Horman of Eden Prairie, Richard wife Sue Horman of Rogers, and Ronald wife Laura Horman of Clements, four grandchildren, Megan (Luke) Breyer, Nicholas, Samantha Cody Horman, brother, Glen wife Ruth Larsen of Suitland, MD, sister-in-law, Lois Fitzpatrick of Inver Grove Heights, brother-in-law, Tom Jenks of Sun City, AZ, and many nieces and nephews. Lester was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Roy Larsen, Gordon wife Mary Ann Larsen, and sister, LoVina Jenks.
