Leslie Herman Nelson

Leslie Herman Nelson was born July 4, 1929 on the family farm in rural Blue Earth County not far from Amboy, the son of Charles and Florence (Russ) Nelson. Les graduated from St. James High School. He worked on the family farm for many years. He moved to St. James in 1979, where he worked several jobs including Tony Downs, Vandenburg Foods, sold insurance, worked for Pony Express and delivered Sunday papers. He moved to the Luther Memorial Home in June 2014. Les loved to fish, hunt fox, bow hunt deer, bowl and play pool at the Band Box. Les is survived by his sister Bonnie Lunz of Madelia, numerous nieces/nephews and grand-nieces/nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carl and Clifford, and sister Alma Mathiowetz.
