Leora Flesner

Leora Mae Flesner was born June 19, 1939 near Revere, MN, the daughter of Cecil and Clara (Shellum) Foster. She graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1957 and later worked for Drever's Grocery Store in Walnut Grove. Leora married Laurence Flesner on January 20, 1962 in Walnut Grove. She has lived near Walnut Grove and then Lucan. She moved into Lamberton in 1971, to South View on Main in Revere in February 2002 and became a resident at Sun Wood Care Center in Redwood Falls in November of 2006. Leora enjoyed cooking and baking. She worked as a cook at the Lamberton Cafe and the Revere Home. Leora was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton. She loved crocheting, playing cards, going fishing, listening to music and dancing, but most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Leora died on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at the Redwood Falls Area Hospital at the age of 67 years. She is survived by her children - Debra (Daniel) Turbes of Walnut Grove, Anita Weber of Tracy, Richard Weber of Lamberton, Katherine Thooft of Rock Rapids, IA, Linda (Gregg) DeSmith of Walnut Grove, Randall (Kimberly) Flesner of Sioux City, IA, and Sara (Randall) Panitzke of Fox Island, WA; 17 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister - Marie (Harvey) Dallenback of Walnut Grove, MN; brother - Richard Foster of Lamberton; and a sister-in-law - Annette Foster of Walnut Grove. She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister in infancy - Bonnie Joyce Foster; brother - Allan Foster; daughter in infancy - Helen Flesner; and a granddaughter in infancy - Carissa DeSmith.
