Leonard J. Ziegler was born on August 25, 1917 in Sleepy Eye, MN the son of John Theresa (Glaser) Ziegler. Leonard lived his entire life in Sleepy Eye where he worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker. He married Rose M. Eckstein on May 5, 1942 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Leonard served in the Army Air Corps during WWII from July 2, 1942 until May 22, 1945. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, VFW and American Legion, all in Sleepy Eye. Leonard loved hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid Twins and Vikings fan. Leonard is survived by his children, Jim (Karen) of Farmington, Betty (Dave) Bastian of Brainerd, Barb Pachkofsky (Pat Murphy) of Lake Elmo, Joyce (Mike) Zahn of Clancy, MT, two grandchildren, Troy wife Jacquelyne Ziegler and Brian wife Michelle Ziegler and two great grandchildren, Corey and Cameron Ziegler. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Rose.
