Leon Sellner

July 29, 1943 — January 8, 2013

Leon Benedict Sellner was born on July 29, 1943 in Sleepy Eye, MN, the son of Ludwig A.Chisey Cecilia T. (Vait) Sellner. Leon grew up and attended school in Sleepy Eye where he lived his entire life. After graduating from St. Mary's High School in Sleepy Eye Leon attended Business College. He served in the United States Army from 1961 until 1964. Leon worked at the Post Office in Sleepy Eye and retired in 2003 after 25 years of service. He married Shirley Helget on September 21, 1968 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Leon enjoyed spending time with family and friends and also cooking, canning and making salsa and jelly. He had a great memory and always seemed to remember details about things (movies, history, people) that no one else could remember. Leon is survived by his wife, Shirley Sellner of Sleepy Eye, children, Brad (Jenny) Sellner of Monticello, Randy (Sheila) Sellner of Sleepy Eye, Tammy (Jeff) Hinderman of New Ulm, 8 grandchildren, Sam, Shawn, Jaylynn, Joslyn, Jacob, Halle, Jace, Madden and brother, Robert Chisey (Diane) Sellner. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Melvin Sellner. Interment Information Home Cemetery 700 St. Mary's St. N.E. Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, United States 56085
