Leon Nachreiner

Leon John Nachreiner was born on June 1, 1925 in Burnstown Township, MN, the son of Joseph and Catherine (Platz) Nachreiner. He was raised in rural Springfield, MN until he married Elizabeth Betty Roiger on May 23, 1949 at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. Leon and Betty farmed by Leavenworth until retiring and moving to rural Sleepy Eye. Leon worked at Miller Sellner after retiring and was their official gopher. He was a member of the Springfield Coop Creamery Board, Brown Co. REA Board and Knights of Columbus. Leon enjoyed woodworking, his Belgian horses, sweets, especially ice cream and Fireball and playing cards. Leon passed away to celebrate on his father's birthday and his oldest son's birthday, Duane. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Betty of Sleepy Eye, children; Duane (Jelene) of Springfield, Daniel (Linda) of Springfield, Linda (Stan) Schroepfer of Comfrey, Terry (Theresa) of Sleepy Eye, Paul (Gay) of Wolsey, SD, Lynnae (Steve) Pelzel of Sleepy Eye, daughter-in-law, Gloria Nachreiner of Sleepy Eye, 26 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, siblings; Edmund Nachreiner of Fairfax, Madonna Hillesheim of New Ulm, Luella Nachreiner of Springfield, Lillian Lentsch of Glencoe, Kathleen (Don) Balbach of New Ulm, Linus (Rosie) Nachreiner of New Ulm, Arnold (Ruth) Nachreiner of Los Fresno, TX and Jerry (Carolyn) Nachreiner of New Ulm, sisters-in-law, Adeline Roiger of Fairfax and Berdine Roiger of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, James, Patrick and Randy, grandsons, Dustin and Nathan, sister, Lynora (Walter) Gentz, brothers-in-law, Omer Lentsch, Albert Hillesheim and sister-in-law, Loretta Nachreiner.
