Leo Schmitz, age 82, of Springfield, MN, died on August 22, 2025, at his home.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN. A Rosary will be on Thursday at 4:00 pm at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN. Visitation will continue Friday from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN. A Latin Requiem High Mass will be held at the Church of the Japanese Martyrs in Leavenworth, MN on Friday at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at the St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery in Springfield, MN. A luncheon and reception will follow at the Springfield Golf Course.
