Leo "Duke" Kral was born on August 2, 1935 in New Ulm to Harry Sr. and Frances (Fischer) Kral. Leo attended country school and graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School. He farmed on the Kral "Home" farm with his four sons and relatives until the present. He also hauled cattle and hauled produce at Del Monte. Leo married Anna (Kokesch) Kral on October 9, 1956 at the Church of St. Willibrord's in Gibbon, MN. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Mary's Catholic Church and was on the restoration board for the Little Red School House. Duke enjoyed bowling, playing cards especially sheephead, deer hunting with his children, grandchildren and friends. He also enjoyed traveling with Anna and friends, caring for his beef cattle, old time concertina music, watching old western movies and loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Anna of Sleepy Eye, children, Doug (Vickie) Kral of Hanska, Duane (Eileen) Kral of New Ulm, Bonnie (Brad) Portner of New Ulm, Connie Landkammer of Hanska, Donna (Kevin) Kjelshus of Sleepy Eye, Dean Kral of Hanska, Darrell (Stacey) Kral of Comfrey, Jolene (Jason) Rohlik of Hanska and Colleen (Robert) Phillips of Amboy, IL, grandchildren, Brian (Malorie) Kral, Danielle (Aaron) Breu, Amy Kral and special friend Dan, Nicole Hansen, Eric Hansen, Aaron Portner, Amanda Landkammer and special friend Chris, Jonathan, Anna and Joshua Landkammer, Lucas & Kyle Kjelshus, Emily Kjelshus & special friend Willy, Colton Downing, Dena Kral, Chandler and Taylor Ecker, Morgan and Avery Kral, Gabrielle, Tallen and Easton Rohlik, Madison and Makayla Phillips, great grandchildren, Leo, Ellen, Wes, Emma, Grace, Alexa, Mason, Leah, Ryder, Cayden, Maria, sister, Lucielle Schmeising, brother, Harry Kral, Jr. and brothers-in-law, Harold Kokesch, Edward Kokesch and Robert Kokesch. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law, Charles Schmeising, Jim Kokesch and sisters-in-law, Lonita Kral, Eva Kokesch, Delores Kokesch and Myrna Kokesch. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to Brown County Hospice or Dept. of Oncology, Mayo Health Systems, Mankato.
