Lawrence Emil Hubert was born on December 11, 1924 to Emil and Nona (Moody) Hubert in Sacramento, CA. Before his 1st birthday, Lawrence and his parents moved to Lamberton. He went to country school thru 8th grade and then attended and graduated from Lamberton Public school in 1942. Lawrence worked as a machinist for Unique Manufacturing in Omaha, NE until 1946. For the next 16 years he farmed near Lamberton. On June 15, 1952, Lawrence was united in marriage to Colleen Idso at the Sharon Lutheran Church. In 1964, he started Hubert Wrecking and enjoyed collecting common and unique items . He was a rural postal carrier for 17 years as well. Lawrence's hobbies include hunting, fishing, traveling and visiting with people. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where he served on the council and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Lawrence Hubert, 88, died Monday, December 17, 2012 at Valley View Manor in Lamberton, MN. He is survived by his children - Beverly (Wynn) Babcock of Oak Park Heights, MN, Larry (Betsy) Hubert, Jr of Lamberton, Connie (Steven) Dirckx of Mankato, MN; 9 grandchildren - Mariah (Nick) Benesh, Clayton (Randi) Hubert, Mike (Kiki) Hubert, Hilary and Angeline Babcock, Kelsey and Charlie Hubert, and Joe and Andy Dirckx; great grandchildren - Carly, Morgan, and Kathryn Hubert; brother - Dennis (Loretta) Hubert of Anoka, MN; sisters - Norma (Harold) Miller of Hemet, CA, Marjorie (Bernett) Nickel of Sanborn, Carol (Darold) Werner of Lake George, MN, Janice (Rodney) Gertner of Walnut Grove, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife - Colleen in 2010, brothers - Willard, Dale and Fredrick.
