LaVonne L. Heimann was born October 24, 1921, in Sherman Township, Redwood County to Harvey R. and Anne (Cain) Lussenhop. She graduated from Redwood Falls High School and Mankato State University. LaVonne enlisted in the Navy WAVES during World War II in June of 1943 and was honorably discharged in February of 1946. She was united in marriage to Albert V. Heimann on June 5, 1951, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lamberton. LaVonne taught for 36 years - in Nicollet County, Lamberton, Wanda, Sanborn, Revere and Walnut Grove. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church serving as sacristan, a member of the CCW, and received the Bishop's Service Award. LaVonne was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Minnesota Education Association, National Education Association, Valley View Manor Board, the Library Board, and Andrew Peterson American Legion Post #41. LaVonne L. Heimann died Sunday, November 13, 2005, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton at the age of 84 years. She is survived by son Charles L. Heimann of Thousand Oaks, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert in 1983, sons Michael in 1991 and Joseph in 1992, sisters Echo Newell and Fay Lockhart, and brother Ross Lussenhop.
