Laverna Halvorson

LaVerna Emma Halvorson was born on August 5, 1914 in Mankato, MN, the daughter of Albert H. Bertha (Schroeder) Fahrenkamp. She married Orlan Halvorson on June 14, 1931 in Gibbon. LaVerna worked at Martinka Hardware, Hardware Hank and Schwab Dairy Store. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye and the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed flower gardening, embroidery, quilting and cooking. Survivors include; son, Donald wife Laurie Halvorson of Sleepy Eye, daughters, Phyllis Halvorson of St. Peter, Karen husband Tom Ganske of Sleepy Eye, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Orlan in 1975 and sisters, Irene Wandersee and Aleda Pautz.
