Larry Barnes

Larry Lee Barnes was born on November 25, 1949 in Sleepy Eye, MN the son of Collin L. Grace (Shellum) Barnes. He attended school in Evan and graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School. After his schooling Larry lived and farmed near Evan his whole life. He had dairy cows for many years and also did custom farming for many area farmers. Larry was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Evan. He enjoyed farming with the help of family and many close friends. Larry enjoyed nature and making trips up North to Lake Winnie to spend time with his family, grandchildren and friends. He will be remembered as someone who would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Survivors include his children, Brady Barnes (Nichole) of Sleepy Eye, Michelle Thooft of Redwood Falls, mother, Grace Barnes of Sleepy Eye, five grandchildren, Nathan Thooft (Hannah Bitker), Dillon Thooft, Neici Barnes, Brienna Barnes Wyatt Barnes, brother, Roger (Marlene) Barnes of Mankato, sister, Jean Bloemke of Sleepy Eye and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Collin, brother, Gary and special friend, Mary Meyer.
