Ladon Vern Krueger

LaDon Vern Krueger, age 88, of Saint James, died on December 15, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society in Saint James.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James and will continue on Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Saint James. Don was born October 1, 1936, to John and Ellen (Rinderhagen) Krueger in West Point, Nebraska. He helped his dad on the family farm until he graduated from West Point High School. On October 18, 1959, he married Carole Kelsey. Together they raised two children, Linda and Greg.

Don owned and operated Don's Tire Service in Saint James since 1978. He was a member of the Saint James Lion's Club and past member of the Jaycee's, The Country Club, Watonwan County Fair and city of Saint James Park Board. He also served in the Minnesota National Guard. In his free time, Don enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family and especially liked spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife, Carole; children, Linda (David) Lenz of Saint James and Greg Krueger of Saint James; grandchildren, Amber (Tina) of Mountain Lake, Colter (Megan) of Odin, and Briar of Duluth; great grandchildren, Payton, Madison, Aaleah, and Grayson; and sister-in-law, Gloria.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Duane (Janice), Dennis, and Venice.
