Korey Lyle Radtke was born on June 3, 1977, in Mountain Lake to Pamela Sue (Firme) Radtke and DeLyle Edward Radtke. He was baptized at the EMB Church of Mountain Lake in 1991 and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church of Mountain Lake in 2001. He attended Mountain Lake Public School and during high school Korey excelled and made many state appearances in track and cross country. After graduating in 1996, Korey attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa where he majored in broadcasting & communications.
Korey met his high school sweetheart, Jaquelynne Niss in 1996, and they married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake on July 13, 2002. They were blessed with two children, Chase and Aayla. Korey was an inspiring dad and a perfect role model for how a father should act. He cared about his children more than anything, taught them to be their best, and attended every event he could. He wanted nothing more than for his children to be happy and feel loved. Korey found countless ways, big and small, to shower his family with love. He looked forward to family get-togethers, playing board games, watching videos, listening to music, and holiday traditions.
Korey enjoyed many hobbies, and he had an expansive library on all kinds of topics including war, sports, technology, and political history that he loved to read. He enjoyed learning about and collecting firearms, dedicating much of his personal space to his gun room/mancave. Korey enjoyed fishing at Mountain Lake, either from the pier or from his boat. Korey took great pride in his yard and from sunup to sundown, he spent most of his free time taking care of his yard, often with his four-legged best friends, and getting rid of any imperfections. He was a man of many collections, from movies and CDs to books and guns.
Not one to shy away from a challenge, Korey was also a man of determination and focus and everything he did, he put 100% effort into. As tough and resilient as he was, he wore his heart on his sleeve and was compassionate towards everyone no matter what. Many people can attest to his generosity and happy attitude towards life. Korey was a simple, well-rounded family man who provided unwavering support and joy to everyone he met.
Korey is survived by his wife, Jaquelynne Radtke; children, Chase Radtke and Aayla Radtke; mother, Pamela Radtke; brother, Brandon Radtke; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and other loved ones.
