Khamsay Phaengsavanh was born in Savannakhet, Laos on October 12, 1950, the son of Phaeng and Kong Phaengsavanh. Khamsay served in the military in Laos as a Lieutenant and escaped to a refugee camp in 1975. He moved with his family to Ft. Worth, Texas in 1986 for a year before moving to Minnesota. Khamsay was united in marriage to Vanekham Phaengsavanh on March 11, 2006. Khamsay worked at Toro in Windom from 1990 to the present. He enjoyed fishing, eating seafood, karaoke, and exercising. Khamsay also enjoyed watching football, playing and watching soccer, and volleyball. Khamsay Phaengsavanh died Tuesday, the 1st of September, 2009, at the Windom Area Hospital at the age of 58. Survivors include wife Vanekhan of Mountain Lake; children- Moon of Bradenton, Florida, Loe of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Tito of Bradenton, Florida; 11 siblings including Mone Phaengsavanh of Mountain Lake and 10 in Laos; and granddaughter Kiyarra Sipaseut. He was preceded in death by his parents- Phaeng and Kong Phaengsavanh.
