Kevin Mathistad

Kevin Wayne Mathistad was born August 31st, 1957 to Wayne Marjean (Heffele) Mathistad in Mountain Lake, MN. He was baptized in the Christian faith on November 3rd, 1957 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church of Odin, MN. He was confirmed in faith on May 16, 1971 at Grace Lutheran Church of Ormsby, MN. Kevin attended elementary school in Ormsby and grades 7 8 in St. James, graduating in 1975 from Butterfield - Odin Public School. Kevin spent his high school years playing football and working beside his dad, mom, brother at Butterfield Building Supply. On September 29th, 1984 Kevin was joined in marriage to Barbara (Braaten) Mathistad. Kevin worked various jobs throughout his life, including driving truck for Butterfield Foods, Butterfield Oil, Mathowitz Construction, Crystal Valley. From August 2011 to present Kevin drove truck for TK Transport of Butterfield, MN. Kevin passed away on May 1st, 2013, in Rochester, MN. Kevin loved his family and especially becoming a Grandpa in February and March 2013. Kevin enjoyed spending his time off with family friends in his back garage. Kevin leaves behind his wife Barbara, sons Nick (Jennifer) Nathan; daughter Nadeen (Jeff); two beautiful granddaughters Quinn Aubre, and grandsons Jaden Tracyn; parents Wayne step-mother Vonnie Mathistad, Aasten Agnes Braaten; brother Keith; in-laws Bret (Annette) Braaten, Beth (Kent) Winters; niece Naomi (Andy) Winters; nephews Blane (Connie) Braaten, Travis (Misty) Winters, Scott (Brittany) Winters, Mike (Paula) Braaten; one great niece Bristol Braaten; and three great nephews Dalton Tucker Braaten Waylon Winters. Oh yeah, grand-puppies Mongo Roscoe! Kevin was preceded in death by his mother Marjean, sister Joan and brother Kim; grandfathers Fred Palmer, grandmothers Amanda, Liz Marge.
