Kevin Kolstad

A true Saint James Saint, Kevin was born on Sept. 11, 1960 to Richard and Karen (Blackstad) Kolstad. He acquired his passion for sports at a young age; from track and football to basketball and baseball, Kevin was always doing what he loved. In 1982, Kevin fell in love with and married Pat (DeToy). His wife and children were his life; he loved them dearly. Kevin was so proud of his children's accomplishments. He instilled in them that the most important thing in life is to be a good person. Smiles were the true scoreboard. Basketball coach and owner of Kolstad Construction and MM Professional Services, Kevin was committed to the community. A quiet man with a distinguished laugh, Kevin touched the lives of many with his optimistic words, selfless acts, and courageous smiles. The only thing Kevin asked for every day was his bible, newspaper, and ESPN. Kevin's unwavering faith made him who he was, and it is that faith that lives on in his loved ones. He is smiling down on us from heaven, singing out of tune with the angels, and happy to be home. Kevin is survived by his wife, Pat, and loving children: Camille, Neil, and Charles. Kevin is also survived by his mother Karen Scheibe of Lake Crystal, brother Blaine (and Teresa) Kolstad of Mankato, sister Brenda (and Dan) Kafka of Ortonville, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Richard.
