There will be a Masonic Service at 4PM Sunday at the funeral home. Kenneth D. Randby, age 81, of St. James, died on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. Kenneth Delane Randby was born on the family farm near Butterfield, the son of Oscar and Blanche (Erickson) Randby. Ken attended rural school in the Butterfield area and attended high school in St. James. Ken was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Butterfield. In 1944, he joined the Merchant Marines and served for two years. On June 10, 1948 Ken was united in marriage to Arleen Junker at Ormsby. Ken worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for more than 35 years retiring in 1989. Ken became a member of the Masonic Lodge in 1961. He was a member of the Libanus Lodge in St. James he was also a member of the Zuhrah Shrine and Scottish Rite. Ken loved fishing, he had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed both country western and gospel music and loved to work in his yard. He was preceded in death by an infant son Gary Lee, a daughter Sherrie Kay and his parents. Ken is survived by his wife Arleen Randby of St. James, children Jerry and Chris Randby of St. James, Wendy Tintes of Maple Grove, Dave Randby and Katherine Crawford of St. James, Jim Randby and Bev Tierney of St. James, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a brother Lawrence Randby of Beebe, AR.
