Kenneth Gene Jensen was born December 8, 1928, in Brookville Township, Redwood County, the son of Reginald and Emma (Wolf) Jensen. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Agricultural School and was inducted into the U.S. Marine Corps in February of 1952. While serving with the Marines, Kenneth was united in marriage to Joan Ganske on August 30, 1952, in Oceanside, CA. Following his honorable discharge in 1954, the couple made their home in rural Sanborn where they farmed and raised their family. Beginning in 1962, Kenneth also managed Sanborn Farm Chemical for many years. After retiring from farming, he took great pride in being a dealer at Jackpot Junction for 12 years. Kenneth was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Colburn American Legion Post #286, and was a former member of the Sanborn Lions Club. He enjoyed golf, Canadian fishing trips, and Wyoming hunting trips. Kenneth Gene Jensen died Thursday, August 9, 2007, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 78 years. Survivors include his children- Kenny and wife Jean Jensen of Wanda, Kevin and wife Riki Jensen of Lakeville, Kurt and wife Pam Jensen of Lamberton, Mary and husband Myron Vogt of Sanborn, Marci and husband Rick Heid of St. Cloud, Kriss Jensen and Shana Jackson of Marshall, and Maureen Janssen of St. Cloud; 30 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law- Lyle and Myrna Ganske of Brea, CA, Tom and Karen Ganske of Sleepy Eye, Mary Jane Koessler of New Ulm, Maureen and Pete DeRosier of Burlington, WI, Collette Van De Bogart of Elkhorn, WI, and Albert Flor of New Richland. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife- Joan in 2004; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law- Jim and Maxine Ganske, Jim Koessler, Lois Flor, Mildred and Bernie Linnehan, and Jim Van De Bogart.
