Kenneth L. Groebner, age 82 of Springfield, Minnesota died on February 7, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield Chapel with a Prayer Service at 3:45 pm prior to the visitation. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 11:00 am. The clergy will be Fr. Jeremy Kucera. Interment will be at St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery in Springfield at a later date. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial are preferred to St. Raphael Catholic Church.
Kenneth Leo Groebner was born on February 11th, 1942, in Springfield, MN to Leo and Irene (Jueneman) Groebner. He attended St. Raphael Catholic School and he graduated from Springfield Public School in 1960. After graduating, Ken served in the U.S. Air Force. After four years, he was honorably discharged and returned home to farm. He was united in marriage to Sherry Huebert on June 24th, 1967, at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield, MN, where he was a life-long member. They were blessed with six children. Ken was a dairy farmer. He enjoyed fishing, raising chickens, working the land, spending time with family and watching the Vikings. Ken had a generous heart and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry; his children, Melissa (Bruce) Beussman, Joseph, Patrice (Greg) Henjum, Bethany Mattson, Mary (Steve) Lee, Delbert (Amanda); grandchildren, Hanna (Adam) Maloney, Samuel Beussman, John Beussman, Aaron Beussman, Mary Beussman, Matthew Beussman, Ella Beussman, Elizabeth Beussman, Emma Beussman, Jake Henjum, Rylee Henjum, William Mattson (fiancé Kaitlyn), Anna (Drew) Myrick, Maria Lee, Alyssa Lee, Landon Groebner, Logan Groebner, and Layla Groebner; great grandchildren, Alice Maloney and Bennett Myrick; siblings, Kathy (Ken) Huebert and Ron (Peggy); sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene Huebert, JoAnn (Bobby) Guggisberg, Vern (Alice) Huebert, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Irene and many aunts, uncles and in-laws.
