Kenneth passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at his home in Ormsby, at the age of 72 years.
Kenneth Melvin Christman was born July 19, 1943, in Comfrey, MN to parents Melvin and Esther (Zettler) Christman. He grew up and
graduated from high school in Comfrey. On October 23, 1954, Kenneth was united in marriage to Joanne Alkire in Comfrey. The couple made their home on a farm near Mt. Lake for a time before moving into town where he worked at the co-op and was a reserve police
officer. The family then moved to Windom, where Kenneth ran the DX station for a couple years. They then moved to St. James where
they lived for the next 36 years. While in St. James, Kenneth worked at Tony Downs then was involved in several businesses: Christman Corners, Hometown Cafe, Christman Tree and Yard services, Christman Enterprises, and was custodian at the Park Apartments for 5 years. Over the years he had been involved in the Jaycees, softball, bowling leagues, was a great 500 card player, pool player and loved fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Christman of Ormsby; sons, Ken Christman Jr. of St. James and Richard Christman of Janesville;
daughters, Kathleen (Charles) Noren of St. James, Debra (Craig) Noren of New Hartford, NY and Pamela (Mark) Rettig of New Hartford,
NY and 6 grandchildren.
