Kelvin Elg

February 5, 1950 — March 7, 2006

Kelvin Stuart Elg, the son of Mildegard and Joyce (Kipling) Elg was born on August 12, 1949 at Mountain Lake, MN. He received his education in Comfrey MN, and graduated from the Comfrey High School. Kelvin was baptized on February 5, 1950, and confirmed on May 17, 1964, at Faith Lutheran Church (now New Hope Lutheran) in Comfrey, where he remained a life long member. Following high school, Kelvin served in the U.S. Navy for four years as a cook. After his honorable discharge, he returned to the family farm, where he farmed with his brother for five years. He then went to work for Swift Eckrich in St. Jame, MN. Kelvin was an excellent cook, enjoyed all kinds of gardening, loved antiques and going to flea markets, and was a collector of old things. He was a member of American Legion Post #244 in Comfrey. Kelvin died on March 7, 2006, in Brown County, MN. Kelvin is survived by a brother, Brad Elg of Comfrey; a niece, Stacy Elg of Comfrey; a nephew, Derek Elg of Maple Grove, MN; a great niece, Taylor Ecker of Comfrey; a great nephew, Chandler Ecker of Comfrey; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
