Kelsey Jo Hulzebos was born on October 8, 1986 to Reva Jo and Dennis Eugene (Wiens) Hulzebos at the Mountain Lake Hospital in Mountain Lake, MN. Although Kelsey had to battle Prader-Willi-Syndrome, she accomplished so much more than she was ever expected to, and touched many peoples lives in the process. On August 12, 2001, Kelsey was baptized upon confession of her faith and was a member of the Community Bible Church, where she enjoyed helping with AWANA. She attended the Mountain Lake Public School from 1992 - 2005, where she was a member of FCCLA and enjoyed attending Wolverine sporting events. Kelsey was currently working at the Windom Hospital in medical records through MRCI, and taking on line college classes for medical records. Kelsey loved putting together puzzles, playing boardgames, word puzzles, Suduko, and playing video games. She loved being with people, planning get togethers, and cooking and baking. She also spent many hours with her pet dog Pebbles, and loved having her nieces over and playing with them. Every fall Kelsey would collect as many Monarch caterpillars as she could and watch them spin their cocoons, then turn into butterflies and watch them fly away. Kelsey died on Monday evening, November 3, 2008 at the Windom Area Hospital in Windom, MN. Kelsey is survived by her parents, Dennis and Reva Hulzebos of Mountain Lake; a sister, Amberly Hulzebos of Amagasaki, Japan; a brother Travis Hulzebos and his wife Shawana of Mountain Lake; 2 nieces, Karina and Kayleigh Hulzebos of Mountain Lake; grandparents, Henrietta Hulzebos, and Harry and Wava Wiens all of Mountain Lake; a special friends, Torrey Weston, Jenny and Anita Xaykosy; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Menno Hulzebos. We would like to thank all the wonderful people who helped us care for and love Kelsey, our families, all the great staff from HSI, Vicki Wagner from Cottonwood Family Services, her 1 on 1's from school, teachers and other staff members who helped her through school. We could never have managed without all of you great people.
