Kathleen Ardith Milbrett, age 66, of Saint James, died on September 8, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Saint James.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James and will continue on Thursday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church in Saint James. A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Saint James on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 11:00 am.

Kathy was born May 14, 1958, to Arthur and Joan (Thompson) Stamp in Saint James. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Saint James. She graduated from Saint James High School in 1976. After graduation, Kathy attended Mankato Area Vocational Technical Institute and became an LPN. She then worked various jobs including as an LPN in several nursing homes and spent many years working at her mother’s restaurant, the Hometown Cafe. While raising her children and working at the Hometown, Kathy continued her education at Mankato State University and received her BSN degree in nursing in 1996. Kathy was a passionate caregiver and enjoyed working with the elderly, so began working at Pleasant View in 1996 as an RN and later became the Director of Nursing. On May 17, 1997, she married Charles ‘Chuck’ Milbrett at First Lutheran Church in Saint James. In 2008, she began working as the Clinical RN Manager at Brandt Ridge Assisted Living where she worked until her cancer diagnosis in August of 2023.

In her free time, Kathy enjoyed traveling with her husband, Chuck, especially to Duluth, going on family trips to resorts, pontooning on the lake, listening to county music, going to We Fest, watching Vikings football, shopping with her daughter, and spending time with her family as they were most important to her. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Chuck; children, Natosha (Darrin) Hovden, Will Sizer, and Ethan Sizer; stepdaughters, Stacy (Scott) Klinkner and Heather (Brodrick) Stolsmark; granddaughters, Lydia Stolsmark, Olivia Haala, and Willa Stolsmark; siblings, Rochelle Hellie, Janine (Jeremiah) Bumgarner, Sheri Anderson, Jim Krogstad, and Michael Montemurno; sister-in-law, Sue (Joey) Helget; brother-in-law, Dennis (Audrey) Milbrett; special friends, Sue Johnson and Brenda Loudermilk; her beloved dogs, Joey and Ginger; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Mike Montemurno; parents-in-law, Fred and June Milbrett; siblings, Ron Sonnabend, Daniel Stamp, and Jackie Rinne; sister-in-law, Sarah Krogstad; brothers-in-law, Richard Milbrett and Jim Nelson; niece, Jennifer Sperstad; and great-niece, Mira Lenz.
