She was born April 30, 1920 in Mankato, MN to Fred Sr. Katherine (Trampert) Youngman. On September 12, 1945 she married Delbert Nig Kuester at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They lived all their married life in Sleepy Eye. Kathleen taught school for 5 years at Good Counsel Academy in Mankato and taught 18 years at St. Mary's High School in Sleepy Eye. She was employed for 53 years in the office as a seasonal employee at Del Monte Corporation in Sleepy Eye. She was a member of the CCW, Christian Mothers, Catholic Order of Foresters and the American Legion Auxiliary. In July 1999, she moved to Grundy Center. Kathleen Kak Youngman Kuester, age 86, of Grundy Center, IA, formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Monday, September 25, 2006 at Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Grundy Center while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. Surviving Kathleen are her sons, Thomas wife Linda of Baldwin, WI and Kevin wife Gloria of Grundy Center, IA; three grandsons- Chad, Matt (Amy) and Jason Butch (Shay); four great grandchildren- Brian, Madison, Travis and Jacqueline; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Youngman and Bernice Youngman; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant granddaughter, Amanda Jean Kuester, brothers, Fred Fritz, Ralph and John Youngman.
