Karen Redman

July 9, 1946 — February 25, 2016

Karen was born July 9, 1946, at Springfield, the daughter of Algernon and Evelyn (Werner) Redman. She went to a country school, District # 16 in Redwood County, for her first three years and then continued her education at the Lamberton School. She attended Westmar College in Le Mars, Iowa and graduated with a teaching degree. She taught elementary students in New Ulm, Minnesota and at the Lenna Conrow School in New Jersey before working at Good News Children's Center in Rochester as a lead preschool teacher for 35 years. She retired in 2008. She was active in the Bethany United Methodist Church, Rochester, especially in missions and went on three short term mission trips to Sierra Leone, Africa. She volunteered for over 20 years serving meals at the Dorothy Day House homeless shelter in Rochester as her church's coordinator. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and traveling. Karen is survived by her siblings, LeRoy (Kris) Redman of Lamberton; Marcelle (Ken) Warner of Mapleton; Loren (Sue) Redman of Lamberton; and Sharon (Terry) Skinner of Belleville, Kansas; 14 nieces and nephews; and 29 great nieces and nephews.
