Karen Fern Trebesch was born on May 20, 1939 in Sleepy Eye, MN to Theodore August and Lena A. (Alt) Trebesch. She attended St. John's Lutheran School through 8th grade and then attended and graduated from Sleepy Eye Public School. Karen attended two years at Mankato Business School. She was diagnosed with polio in 1952. She married Rolland Pyan on January 21, 1961 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. She worked at Farmer's Elevator in Sleepy Eye until they started a family. In 1978 she started working at the Sleepy Eye Health Care Center for 25 years until 2003. Karen was a 4-H Leader and enjoyed sewing, cards, crafts, knitting, reading and watching television. She is survived by her children, Blaine (Rita) Pyan of Springfield, Mike (Gabrielle) Pyan of New Ulm, Colette Clay of Morgan, Brad (Paulette) Pyan of Nicollet, Boyd Pyan and special friend Kari Smith of Jackson, Theresa (Leo) Moldan of Sleepy Eye, Denise (Don) Lienig of New Ulm, 16 grandchildren; Alicia (Nick) Forstner, Gary (Alanna) Lienig, Danielle (Fred) Gieseke, Cassandra Lienig, Christine (fiance Brady Kalk) Lienig, Joe Clay, Paula (Levi) Watterson, Cheyenne, Dakota and Savannah Pyan, Chantel, Colton and Cayden Moldan, Owen, Anton, Eli Pyan, 7 great grandchildren; Caleb, Joshua, Abigail and Isabelle Forstner, Brianna and Blake Lienig, Riley Jo Clay, brothers, John Trebesch of Morgan, Harold Trebesch, William Trebesch, Paul (Sue) Trebesch, all of Sleepy Eye, sisters, Laurel Bielke of Sleepy Eye, Wilma (Charles) Krzmarzick of Sierra Vista, AZ and Eva (Ron) Larrabee of Chaparral, NM, sister-in-law, Marian Pyan of St. Peter, Sally (Tom) Forstner and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in-law, Fred and Stella Pyan, husband, Rolland on March 29, 2001, sisters, Delores Romberg and Illa Mae Harmening, sisters-in-law, Lucille, MaryAnn and Joni Trebesch and brother-in-law, Doug Pyan.
