Karen Jensen

Karen Lee Jensen was born November 19, 1942, in Redwood Falls, MN the daughter of Bernard and Dorothy (Arnett) Schmid. She attended school in Redwood Falls and was united in marriage to Jerome Jensen on July 15, 1961, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clements. Karen worked for her in-laws at the Mark Twain Cafe in Clements for 5 years. She later worked as a nurse's aide at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield and Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls. Karen was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Springfield and enjoyed word-fill-ins, jigsaw puzzles, cake decorating, and watching the Food Channel. Karen Jensen died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at her home in Springfield at the age of 68 years. She is survived by husband Jerry; children- Michael (Lorraine) Jensen of San Jose, CA, Lourie Jensen of Comfrey, Renee (Rod) Rogotzke of Sanborn, Todd (Jenny) Jensen of Blooming Prairie, and Ron (Jenny) Kettner of Springfield; grandchildren- Saralynn, Cameron, Ryan, Emery, Jon, Jenny (Travis), Tabby (Joe), Tony (Rachel), Ashley, Shell (Jesse), Brandon, Samantha, Riley, Chet, Brandon, Mark, Brandon, Andy (Josey), Justin, and Lindsey; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers- Tom Schmid of Edina, John (Blondie) Schmid of Douglas, WY, and Douglas (Vicki) Schmid of Douglas, WY; sisters- Judy (Dennis) Richter of Maracopa, AZ, Sally (Bob) Nelson of Snohomish, WA, Pat (Lester) Schultz of Redwood Falls, and Susan (Daryl) Rielander of Hudson, WI; and brother-in-law Carl Sandberg of Amery, WI. She was preceded in death by son Dean; her parents Bernard and Dorothy Schmid; mother and father-in-law Orville and La Vera Jensen; and sister Dorothy Sandberg.
