Karen Hopman

Karen Laura (Johnson) Hopman was born August 27, 1950, to Clement and Lila Johnson in New Ulm, MN. She went to country school in Brown County, MN and then attended Madelia High School, graduating in 1968. She attended nursing school at Methodist in St. Louis Park, MN. Karen married Jeff Hopman on March 7, 1970. She enjoyed camping, antiques, genealogy and was proud of her Norwegian heritage, loved visiting with friends and spending time with her grandchildren. Before retiring, she had a large garden and would can or freeze the fruits of her labor to enjoy throughout the winter. Karen Laura Hopman, age 71, of Madelia, MN, died on June 22, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Karen is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jeff Hopman; children, Mike, Karissa (Eric) and Laura (Brandon); grandchildren, Landon, Logan, Hannah, Alicia, Kendra, Olivia, Brezlyn; brother, Kelvin (Diana); siblings-in-law, Nancy (Tom), Jane (Ric) and Jim (Amy); many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by parents, Clement and Lila Johnson; parents-in-law, Donavon and Lorraine Hopman and granddaughter, Kayla Pietsch.
