Karen Mae (Thurston) Thormodson Dauer, age 76, of Morgan, MN died peacefully on Friday, March 18, 2016 surrounded by her family at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, MN, of complications from pneumonia. On Sept. 18, 1959 she was united in marriage to Luther Thormodson at Garden City Christian Church in Garden City, MN. Following their wedding, they farmed in rural Hanska. To this union, six children were born: Jeffrey, William, Kenneth, Miles, Mary Kay and Mitchell. Karen and Luther also had a foster son, Andrew Iverson. Luther passed away on December 16, 1988. On January 4, 1992, Karen was united in marriage to Fred Dauer, Jr at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye, MN. Karen's vibrant Christian faith and love for others was evident in all she did. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Sleepy Eye, where she taught the Adult Bible Class and was a member of the Evangelism Board.
