Justin Lee Nelson, age 53, of New Ulm, formerly of Madelia, MN, died on March 9, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Madelia on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM.

Interment will be at a later date. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Madelia, MN. Online Condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Justin Lee Nelson, was born on July 2, 1972 in Madelia, MN, where he would continue to build his life for many years to come. He was a High Honors graduate of Madelia High School - Class of 1990. Justin was a hard worker. For many years, Justin was a truck driver. Whether it was close to home or over the road, he was always up for a trip in his semi. He always enjoyed having a co-pilot, throughout the years he had many; his four-legged friends, his children (Ty & Sadie), and his partner (Tammy). Most recently, Justin took on the role of Mechanical Equipment Operator with 3-M. No matter where he was or what he was doing, Justin was always loved by those around him. 

Justin enjoyed the outdoors, he was a hunter and a fisherman. He loved spending time with family and friends, he was always trying to make those around him laugh. Justin was very skilled & creative - he enjoyed building things & fixing everything he could. In 2016, Justin met his partner, Tammy. They quickly fell in love and started their story together. Justin was often the first call for those who counted on him, you could count on him to be there. He was not only a father, a son, a partner, a friend - he was the person who would do anything for those he cared about. 

Justin is survived by his parents, Bruce and Barbara Nelson of Madelia; children, Ty (Alayna) Nelson and Sadie (Devin K.) Nelson of Mankato; partner, Tammy Gingles and her daughters, Hannah and Abigail Baum of New Ulm; grandmother, Donna Jean Peterson of Mankato; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is joined in Heaven by his grandparents, Carl & Clara Nelson; grandfather Calvin Glaman and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
