Julie Ann Niemeier died at the age of 59 on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at The Estates of St. Louis Park. She was the daughter of Howard and Violet (Nelson) Niemeier, and was born in Madelia, Minnesota on October 8, 1959. Julie grew up in Grogan. She attended the Grogan country school until 1969, and then attended and graduated from St. James High School in 1978. Throughout high school, Julie was active in the candy striper program. After graduation, she went on to attend Apostolic Bible Institute in St Paul and Mankato Area Vocational Technical School. After completing her education, she returned to St. James and worked at Pleasant View Nursing Home for many years. Julie was an active member of the Pentecostal Church in St. James. She loved to serve God and work for Him any way she could. Julie cherished her family - she adored her nieces as her own children. She was a very soft spoken woman and was always thinking of others before herself. Julie loved to knit and crochet and made many afghans and beanies for the troops. She was active in many groups in St. James and delighted in going to the thrift stores to buy treasures. Glass dish and luncheon sets were among her favorite purchases. Julie also loved her cat Oreo. She is survived and remembered by her mother, Violet; siblings Jeffrey (Deanna) Niemeier, of Grogan; Jackie (Doug) Bristol of Mountain Lake, MN; Jason (Heather) Niemeier of Madison Lake, MN; Nieces, Shannon (John) Branstad, Andrea (Ryan) Kuenzel, Dannelle (Cody) Swanson and Allison Bristol; her great nieces and nephew; aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
