Julia Annette Blick was born May 11, 1914, in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of Ole and Johanna (Hoverstein) Olson. She came to Kandiyohi County, MN with her parents at the age of two and attended country school District 53 in Irving Township. Julia worked at various homes in the Green Lake area before her marriage to Edner Blick on April 29, 1938, in Atwater, MN. The couple farmed in Brookville Township, then moved to Burnstown Township in 1957, retiring to Springfield in 1979. Julia was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Leah Circle, St. John's Lutheran Home Auxiliary, and the Springfield Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, visiting with friends, cooking, and being with her family. Julia A. Blick died Monday, January 16, 2006, at her home in Springfield at the age of 91 years. Survivors include sons- Lowell and wife Nancy Blick of Morgan, and Loren and wife Cheryll Blick of Sleepy Eye; grandchildren- Gary Blick, Suzanne and husband Brian Kanzenbach, Jennifer Blick, and Kelly Blick; great grandchildren- Travis Blick, and Chloe, Brenna and Alex Kanzenbach; and sister- Lorraine Van Ort of Willmar. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- Edner in 1988; daughter- Lu Ann in 1963; son- Edner, Jr. in infancy; brother- Edwin Olson; and sisters- Alice Tait and Evelyn Himley.
